What is the difference between UptoDate & OpenEvidence?

Answer

If you are considering using OpenEvidence over UptoDate, please note the following points:

  • OpenEvidence is a research-oriented tool, not point-of-care
  • OpenEvidence is aggregated results from journals, medical reference books, images, and videos.
  • OpenEvidence users must sift through results from the journals/books to find answers. It’s ideal for medical research purposes. Not actionable for providers
  • OpenEvidence Is a third-party resource that Clinical Key uses for AI on the Journals
  • OpenEvidence also requires an NPI number for unlimited use so students and others without can only ask a limited number of questions(this may change with use of Clinical Key)
